Twin Miracles At Ganapathi Homam Surprise All
Lord Ganapathi appeared in the form of a big fire, and this was followed by a cloudburst over the yagashala and surrounding areas, at the mahayagam.

A 3-day mahayagam with an offering of one lakh modukas (undrallu) to appease Lord Ganapathi and seeking world peace and the welfare of all the people began on a grand scale on Saturday at the Sri Lakshmi-Ganapathi temple at Kanajiguda in Alwal.
Sponsored by well-known face-reading expert and Sanskrit scholar Dr Mothkuru Satyanarayana Sastry, the mahayagam started with 12 homagundams and is being performed by 150 ritwiks coming from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana under the guidance of vedic pandits Brahmasri Madugula Manikya Somayajulu, Brahmasri Puranam Maheshwara Sarma, Brahmasri Kasula Chandrasekhara Sarma and Brahmasri Pavan Sarma.
Well-known Hanuman upasak Brahmasri Santosh Kumar is supervising the mahayagam.
The mahayagam started early on Saturday amidst the chanting of veda mantras and the pandits offered 30,000 modakas to the Lord in the homagundams by the evening. To the surprise of every one at the mahayagam, Lord Ganapathi appeared in the form of a big fire, and this was followed by a cloudburst over the yagashala and surrounding areas at 10 pm.
The peetadhipathis, pandits and devotees were awe-struck by the twin miracles at the mahayagam site on the first day itself.
On the second day on Sunday, the homam was performed with 60,000 modukas, and the mahayagam will conclude on Monday with the offering of the remaining 10,000 modukas to the remover of obstacles.
Today, Hampi Peetadhipathi Sri Vidyaranyananda Bharathi participated in the ritual and delivered a discourse. Sanskrit brothers Brahmasri Kodavatiganti Srinadha Sarma and Mahadev Sarma recited chapters from the puranas.
The Mothkuru Ramasastry Charitable Trust arranged food (annadanam) for some 10,000 devotees.
