The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) along with the Prahari Trust and the Indian Red Cross Society will hold a mega blood donation camp in all the TSRTC depots, bus stations and workshops, and the Bus Bhavan, on November 30, between 9 am and 1 pm.
Approximately 65 locations have been identified throughout Telangana for the event, being conducted for the benefit of thalassemia & cancer patients. Due to Covid-19 there is a shortage of blood in the various blood banks, and hence the TSRTC has taken up this drive.
All TSRTC employees and officers along with their families and friends, and commuters, have been encouraged to participate in this camp.
V C Sajjanar, the MD of TSRTC, appealed to all citizens to come forward and voluntarily participate by going to their nearest TSRTC depot or bus station and donate blood.
People who are healthy could donate blood twice or thrice in a year, and should not harbour any myths that they would have any problems when they donate blood, he said.
TSRTC Chairman Baji Reddy Govardhan, MLA, appreciated the initiative of Sajjanar; Mamidi Bheemreddy, the Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society, Hyderabad district; and Y Raghu Rama Rao, Founder, Prahari Trust.
