Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) floor leader Etela Rajender on Thursday said that his party would strive hard for the development of Telangana.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan here, Etela said that the Centre's nod for the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in order to create a Telangana state was the result of a continued struggled and several sacrifices made by the people of Telangana under the leadership of TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao.
The movement seeking statehood for Telangana was initiated by KCR following injustice and non-development of the region, he said, and added that the TRS leaders had never aspired for any positions, and that its leaders had even quit ministers' posts for the sake of Telangana.
Referring to a recent survey done by a media group predicting 13 Lok Sabha seats for the TRS in the next elections, he said that the report indicates that the people's confidence on his party had increased considerably. And the TRS would work hard to ensure the development of Telangana and resolve the problems being faced by its people.
After the formation of Telangana, the TRS would continue its struggle for the state's reformation and development, Etela said.
The TRS leader also alleged that Telangana remained ignored in the 9 years' rule of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. He asked the leaders from Telangana region to come out of the TDP. (INN)
