Telangana BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar today denied the allegations made by former minister Etala Rajender, that him (Kamalakar) and some other leaders of the TRS were "hatching a conspiracy" to kill the leader, and slammed the latter for making such claims.
Addressing a press conference at Karminagar, the minister accused Rajender of "trying to defame the TRS government" by "spreading stories" that the regime was "trying to attack him" and was "hatching conspiracies to murder him".
An irate Kamalakar vowed to quit politics if any of the allegation levelled against him by the former minister were proved, and added, "I will protect Rajender's life at any cost. I do not have any personal enmity with him or anyone else. What we do have is only political rivalry but no personal grudges. So, I want to clarify that the charges made by Rajender are all false. I have been upright and the public knows this."
He reiterated that the TRS and the BJP were political rivals, but that individual leaders did not nurse any personal grudges against one another.
The minister then stated that TRS would not harm anyone and urged DGP M Mahender Reddy and the police top brass to provide protection to Rajender.
"The TRS does not pose any threat to Rajender. He has cooked up charges against us. I have reports that suggest that he will level allegations against the TRS leadership after staging an attack that will be carried out by his own followers. Such incidents need to be stopped by the police and the officials," he asserted.
Talking about the steps taken by the KCR regime for the empowerment of the Dalit community in Telanagana, Kamalakar revealed, "Chief Minster K Chandrashekar Rao has decided to start the implementation of the Dalit Bandhu program from Huzurabad. He will then expand it to other parts of the state in a phased manner. The scheme will surely help the SCs economically. We will spend Rs 2,000 crore on this effort."
He then spoke about the upcoming Huzurabad election, and said, "The TRS will win the support of the people in the Huzurabad segment. The BJP and the Congress are going to lose the seat.
