TRS supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has reportedly finalized the names of the three party candidates for the three Rajya Sabha seats going in for elections later this month.
Since March 12 is the last date as per the Election Commission for the filing of nominations, KCR reportedly zeroed in on the candidates' names today.
According to information, the TRS candidates are Santhosh Kumar (TRS general secretary and KCR's nephew) for one seat, Jaipal Yadav or Lingaiah Yadav for the second, and Uma Madhava Reddy or Md Alam Khan for the third.
KCR has decided to send someone from the Yadava community this time to Parliament, resulting in two probables from the community. To take on the might of the Congress in Nalgonda, the TRS chief appears to be preferring former minister Uma Madhava Reddy. Though Mahabub Alam Khan also has a chance, the Chief Minister is likely to reward Uma Madhava Reddy for switching loyalties to the TRS from the TDP recently.
