TRS MP V Lakshmikantha Rao today criticised former Health Minister Etala Rajender for
his comments against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and the TRS leadership.
Speaking to the media, the MP said that if given the chance, he would contest for the Huzurabad MLA seat, Rajender's current constituency, and defeat the incumbent MLA.
The senior leader then alleged that Rajender had been levelling false charges against the ruling party after it
took action against him for his alleged land grabbing in Medak, and pointed out that a CM's decision was final and binding with regard to the addition and removal of ministers.
"Despite knowing that it was unlawful, Rajender grabbed government assigned lands from the people of Medak for personal gains. And now, after getting caught, he is spreading lies about KCR who has always supported the leader as an important BC leader and has given him various opportunities to work in top political posts. It is unfortunate that the former minister has claimed that KCR dumped him and belittled his image. It is wrong to grab lands and that can be purchased legally. The CM has only done what was called for, therefore. If the CM asks me to, I am ready to contest against Rajender from Huzurabad," he asserted.
Rao's remarks come at a time when Rajender has said that his well-wishers and supporters from nine districts in the state are unhappy at his removal.
