TRS Case On Komatireddy, Sampath Kumar Next On May 2
The Hyderabad High Court today adjourned to May 2 the case filed by 12 TRS MLAs against a single bench judgment reinstating Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Sampath Kumar.
Dealing with the 12 TRS MLAs' petition against a single bench judgment reinstating Congress MLAs Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and S A Sampath Kumar after they were expelled by the Telangana Assembly, the Hyderabad High Court today adjourned the case to May 2 after hearing the arguments of both sides.
The respondent's counsel Abhishek Singhvi argued that the state government had delayed submitting the video footage of the Governor's address in the Assembly containing the incident of headphones allegedly being thrown at Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Swamy Goud.
Singhvi also argued that the TRS MLAs had no right to file a petition against a court judgment, and that only the Speaker and the Legislature secretary had the right to file such a review petition. He opined that every MLA would hereon challenge such judgements if the court considered this petition.
The court then adjourned the case to Wednesday.
