Even as the seat-sharing discussions among the Mahakutami are on, there are many speculations in the media about the number of seats each of the alliance partners will get, and also the position of the TJS leader in the state after the elections.
The Congress, the major alliance partner, has appointed a committee under the chairmanship of K Jana Reddy to hold discussions with the TDP, the TJS and the CPI leaders and finalise the seat sharing. After prolonged discussions, the Congress leaders are reported to have decided to offer the Deputy Chief Minister's post to TJS chief M Kodandaram in case the grand alliance gets to power after the elections. The Congress core committee has also decided to appoint Kodandaram as the chairman of the committee for the implementation of the joint manifesto of the alliance if the latter coming to power.
While the TJS is aspiring for 36 seats, the Congress leadership has decided to offer only 8 to 10 seats to the party. The Congress has also decided on giving only 10 to 12 seats to the TDP, and two to the CPI. A final picture on the seat-sharing is expected to come out within the next two days.
Another discussion going on in the political circles is on the number of Deputy Chief Ministers in case the mahakutami wins the elections. Congress leader Revanth Reddy had already announced publicly that Shabbir Ali will be a Deputy CM if the alliance wins. There is a thinking in some sections that Revanth Reddy made the announcement only after getting the green signal from Rahul Gandhi.
Apart from Shabbir Ali and Kodandaram, will there be a Deputy Chief Minister from the TDP and one more from the Congress, is the question making the rounds in the political circles. There is also an interesting discussion among the Congress leaders on the role to be given to Revanth Reddy, who is showing himself as a strong and vibrant leader in attacking the TRS regime and Chief Minister KCR.
