The cabinet sub-committee constituted by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday to streamline the process of the registration of non-agricultural properties in the state, held its first meeting today.
The committee, headed by R&B Minister V Prashanth Reddy, met at the BKKR Bhavan to discuss the issues slowing down the registration process.
They also discussed ways to resolve the technical glitches and staffing shortages that were hindering the process.
Speaking at the meeting, committee head Prashanth Reddy claimed that the committee was working to ensure that the people of Telangana could avail themselves of a hassle-free and corruption-free land registration service.
"The TRS government is committed to providing a transparent, corruption-free and convenient method of land registration to the people of the state, and had started the Dharani portal to achieve this. Guided by this vision, the committee is working hard to deal with any loopholes in the service. We have already been trying to resolve the technical malfunctions on the portal and the staffing shortage issue at the registrars' offices. Besides this, three teams of officials have been appointed to fix the problems being faced by the applicants," he said.
The minister also added that the government would take the suggestions of various stakeholders, including the people, the real estate companies, the builders and the bankers of the state, on how to further streamline the process.
He then directed the concerned officials to look into the registration process' issues, and deal with the staffing shortage on a priority.
"Ensure that there is adequate staff in the offices, and that there are enough technical teams to check any snags on the portal," Reddy told the officials.
Committee members Mahmood Ali, K T Rama Rao, T Srinivas Yadav and E Dayakar Rao were also present at the meeting.
After facing widespread criticism for the delays in the commencement of the registration of non-agricultural lands in the state, the TRS government is now scrambling to resume the process without any more delays and glitches.
