Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today asked officials to put in persistent efforts for the expeditious completion of irrigation and development projects in the State.
Harish Rao held a high-level review meeting with chief engineers in his chambers and launched a calendar for the Irrigation department. Speaking on the occasion, he claimed that the State government achieved excellent results in irrigation sector in just two and a half years.
"It is high time that officials worked efficiently in active coordination with other wings for the timely completion of the projects," he said.
"We have to strive to achieve the targets set for irrigation projects on time. The State government wants to see Palamur, Ranga Reddy and Dindi projects completed besides others in the districts. And the Drought situation in Khammam district will not continue if the Sitarama project is completed," he said and asked the officials to replicate the Madhya Pradesh model of distributing waters to distributaries and minor canals to achieve better results.
The same process is being implemented in the Peddapally district under a distributary, he added.
