Telangana Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar today announced that he had tested positive for Covid-19 and would be quarantining himself at his residence for the next two weeks.
The minister added that he was not severely ill, and was displaying only mild symptoms.
"The doctors have advised me to rest at home. I am doing well, and will be resuming my normal routine very soon," Kumar said.
He also advised those who had been in close contact with him recently to undergo testing.
Kumar is only one among the many ministers who caught the coronavirus. Earlier, ministers Malla Reddy, Mohammed Mahmood Ali and T Harish Rao had also contracted the disease. The three ministers recovered well, and have been actively involved in public events since then.
