England Women's Tour Stays Away

Thanks to the volatile political situation in town, matches of the England women's tour are pushed away from Hyderabad
Hyderabad | 9th February 2010
Hyderabad has lost out to women's cricket this time. The England women's team, set to tour India in February and March, were going to make Hyderabad a part of their itinerary, but the BCCI has struck the city off the list.

2 one-dayers out of the 5 that were planned were set to happen in Hyderabad, but these matches have now moved to Bangalore and Mumbai thanks to the security issues that the Telangana issue is throwing up.

5 one-day matches and 3 Twenty-20 matches will be held during the tour, which will be inaugurated in Bangalore. 2 ODIs also will be played in Bangalore, and the next two will be held on 24 and 26 February in Vizag. Mumbai will host the last ODIs as well as the three Twenty-20 matches.

The BCCI's decision comes as a disappointment, especially because the HCA had successfully conducted the Duleep Trophy final here, albeit in a majorly low-key manner.
