After a two-month summer vacation, the schools in the State reopened today for the academic year 2022-23.
A total of 41,392 schools, including private schools, reopened across Telangana.
Minister for Education P Sabitha Indra Reddy visited the Government Girls High School in Mahabubia in the city and greeted the students there by offering them chocolates.
Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that all government schools were being refurbished and rebuilt under the Mana Ooru Mana Badi program, and that almost all the facilities were being upgraded.
She also thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for taking the initiative of introducing the English medium of instruction from classes 1 to 8 in all the schools from this academic year, and said that a total of 1.04 lakh government teachers had been trained for that purpose in collaboration with the Azim Premji University.
The minister said that the government was providing textbooks in both English and Telugu, and asked the students to avail themselves of the facilities.
