School students of the State will get their textbooks in the open market from July 6.
This was revealed by the Director of the Government Textbook Press S Srinivasa Chary.
He said that all necessary arrangements for the sale of the textbooks for students of classes 1 to 10 across the State had been made.
Revealing the reasons behind the delay in the publication of the books, he said that the delays in the finalisation of the paper and the tenders were the issues.
He said that the press had handed over contracts to sell the books to 13 private firms.
He added that the books would be sold by sellers who were approved by the DEOs of the different districts of the state, and urged the parents of the students to lodge complaints with the DEOs concerned if anybody sold the books beyond the fixed price.
He added that the press had published chapter-wise QR codes in all the textbooks of the State, and that the codes would help the students view their classes in audio and video modes.
