The convenor of the Joint Action Committee of the TSRTC employee unions, Ashwatthama Reddy, today ended his fast at the Osmania General Hospital in the city.
The President of the Telangana Jana Samithi M Kodandaram offered lemon juice to Reddy to end his fast.
Reddy had launched the fast on Saturday at his house, and the police arrested him from there yesterday. They today admitted him to the Osmania General Hospital for treatment.
Reddy continued his fast at the hopsital and refused to take the treatment provided by the hospital authorities. However, he decided to end his fast following the intervention of Kodandaram.
Speaking to media persons after ending his fast, Reddy said that the JAC would take a call on the continuation of the strike once they received the copy of the High Court order. He also said that the JAC would make a final announcement on the continuation of the strike after holding a meeting on Tuesday evening.
Reddy also said that the JAC had decided to cancel the proposed Sadak Bandh program scheduled to be held tomorrow (Tuesday).
