Ministers and Congress legislators of the Telangana region will make a representation to the Antony Committee in the national capital on August 19.
Talking to reporters after a delegation of Telangana leaders called on PCC president Botsa Satyanayarana at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, ministers D Sridhar Babu and Uttam Kumar, and Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar, told reporters that Telangana leaders would express their grievances and concerns before the Antony Committee.
They accused the Telugu Desam Party and the YSR Congress party of adopting dual standards on the Telangana issue. They said that while TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu had written a letter to the Centre supporting Telangana, and YSRCP had passed a resolution in its plenary session in favour of statehood for the region, both the parties have now reversed their stand.
"While the TDP MPs were sThalling the proceedings of Parliament, the YSRCP was provoking the sentiments of people in Seemandhra region by organising protests," they said.
They also slammed the YSRCP for resorting to mass resignations. They said that the ongoing Samaikyandhra agitation is damaging the economy of Andhra Pradesh.
The delegation comprised Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy, Labour Minister Danam Nagender, MLC and former minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir, and other ministers and legislators. (INN)
