Telangana Freedom Fighters Association president Konda Laxman Bapuji, on Monday, stated that he would convene a round-table conference with all the party leaders on 11 January to discuss the need to divide the state in a peaceful and amicable manner.
He said that it will be a round-table Sadbhavana meeting, held at Prakasam Hall in Gandhi Bhavan.
Further, he appealed to all stake holders to freely express their views on the state's division, and to help the Centre in making a decision to quickly put an end to this uncertainty.
He also said that the people of the region will lose confidence if the Centre delays a decision on the issue in the name of the "consultation process".
Asking the Centre to honour the promise it made on 9 December 2009, he said that the Telangana issue was delayed mainly due to a lack of commitment among the leaders.
He also expressed a serious concern over the attacks between the TDP and the TRS members, and the police arrests that occured prior to and during Chandrababu Naidu's Rythu Porubata.
Moreover, he questioned the TDP chief as to why he has not made his party stance clear during the all-party meeting convened by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in New Delhi.
He also asked Naidu why he is unable to control Seemandhra leaders, who, he said are resorting to provocative statements which have led to chaos in the region. (INN)
