Former Infrastructure & Investment Minister Komatireddi Venkat Reddy on Thursday stated that he would observe an indefinite hunger fast from 1 November as part of his ongoing agitation for a separate Telangana state.
Talking to media persons after participating as the chief guest in the Dhum Dham program being organized by Telangana employees at Telangana Chowk, Komatireddi said that he would sit-in for a hunger strike with one lakh supporters, from 1 November, to fulfil his promise made to the people after his
resignation from the Cabinet.
The former minister has threatened suicide if someone tries to foil his hunger strike.
Accusing Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of taking revenge on Telangana leaders, he said that the CM would be held responsible if anything happens to him.
He also slammed elected representatives from the region for not submitting their resignations despite the death of 600 people for the cause of separate statehood.
Komatireddy also accused the Chief Minister of sending "misleading" reports to the Centre on the ongoing indefinite general strike and for making efforts to dilute the agitation. (INN)
