AICC general secretary and in-charge of state Congress affairs, Digvijaya Singh, indicated that the Congress Core Committee might hold discussions about the Telangana issue during its meeting which is scheduled to be held on Friday evening.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Digvijay Singh said that he had asked Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC president Botsa Satyanaryana to prepare a roadmap that would faciliate the party's efforts to arrive at a conclusive decision on the Telangana issue.
Meanwhile, Digvijay Singh held discussions with several leaders, including Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, N Raghuveera Reddy, Anantha Venkata Rami Reddy and Palvai Govardhan Reddy, on the Telangana issue.
While Lagadapati Rajagopal requested Digvijay Singh not to divide the state, Palvai claimed that there was no confusion on the Telangana issue and that the division will happen in accordance with the guidelines that are laid down in the constitution.
Digvijay Singh also had a meeting with Union Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on the Telangana issue. However, he refused to comment on what was discussed during the meeting. (INN)
