Senior educationist and MLC Chukka Ramaiah on Sunday stated that the agitation for Telangana statehood is not against the people of Andhra.
Talking to media persons after releasing his book "Vekuva Pelupulu", he said that the agitation for separate statehood is against the government for not respecting the sentiments and aspirations of people of the Telangana region.
He said that the agitation was launched mainly due to the government's indifferent attitude and negligence towards the region in developmental works.
Chukka Ramaiah announced that he would remain a Telangana supporter and communist till his last breath.
The book was released by senior journalist Ramachandramurthy on the occasion of Chukka Ramaiah's 86th birthday.
The book consists of things that Ramaiah had experienced during his morning walks, which he says would benefit readers.
Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader Bhandaru Dattatreya, Telangana People's Front president and noted balladeer Gaddar, and senior journalist Allam Narayana participated in the book release program. (INN)
