Telangana Martyrs' Memorial To Be Inaugurated In June
Minister Prashanth Reddy announced that the Telangana Martyr's Memorial coming up near the Secretariat would be inaugurated by CM K Chandrashekar Rao next month.
Minister for Roads and Buildings Vemula Prashanth Reddy today announced that the Telangana Martyr's Memorial coming up near the Secretariat would be inaugurated by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao next month.
Reddy visited the site of the memorial coming up beside the Hussain Sagar lake and inspected the ongoing works. He moved around the entire area and enquired about the progress of the works, including on the main door area, the landscaping, the parking area, the installation of a Telangana Talli statue, the granite flooring, the photo gallery, the audio and visual room, the fountain area, the escalator, the convention centre, the restaurant on the second floor and the lighting.
The minister made a few suggestions to the construction agency and asked it to complete the works in a stipulated period.
Reddy said that the State government was taking up this prestigious project as a tribute to the martyrs of the separate statehood agitation that culminated in today's Telangana State.
He said that the diya-shaped structure was believed to be the world's largest seamless stainless steel structure, and expressed hope that the memorial would turn into a major tourist attraction in the days to come.
