The TRS won just 9 of Telangana's 17 Lok Sabha seats, as against its expectations of doing a clean sweep by winning 16 (with another won by its ally the MIM).

In major surprises, the BJP won four and the Congress three seats. Neither of the parties made any impact in the December 2018 Assembly elections.
It shows that the people voted differently on state-specific and national issues. It also shows that the BJP possibly has a good future in Telangana.
TRS candidates Ranjith Reddy won the Chevella LS seat defeating Congress candidate Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, P Ramulu won the Nagar Kurnool LS seat, Nama Nageshwar Rao won Khammam, M Srinivas Reddy won the Mahabubnagar seat defeating the BJP's D K Aruna and Congress' Vamshichand Reddy, N Venkateshwarlu won Peddapally, P Dayakar won Warangal, K Prabhakar Reddy won Medak, Kavitha Malothu won Mahabubabad and B B Patil won Zaheerabad.
