The Telangana Government has issued guidelines for the "Shaadi Mubarak" scheme.
According to the GO Ms No 4 issued by the Minorities Welfare Department on Thursday, a one-time financial assistance of Rs 51,000 will be given to all unmarried girls belonging to the minority community at the time of marriage.
The unmarried girl should be a resident of Telangana, and should have completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage. The wedding of the said girl should be on or after October 2, 2014, and the combined income of the Parents should not exceed Rs. 2,00,000 per annum.
Qualifying people may apply online by accessing http://epasswebsite.cgg.gov.in or through any MEESEVA center.
The GO says that the Shaadi Mubarak scheme may not be combined with any other scheme, such as the incentive award for inter-caste marriages involving persons belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
Also, this will be only a one-time financial assistance, that may be availed of only once in a lifetime.
The District Minority Welfare Officer of each district will process the applications for the district, and after due verification of the documents, sanction the amounts to be payable, which will be deposited into the bank accounts of the bride. (INN)
