Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka today emphasized the need to explore revenue-generating strategies that did not impose additional financial burdens on citizens.
At a resource mobilization cabinet sub-committee meeting held at the Secretariat, Vikramarka discussed various revenue enhancement strategies with ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Dudilla Sridhar Babu.
He claimed that there was untapped revenue potential in valuable assets in joint ventures, and urged prompt resolution of disputes involving private entities to boost government income.
The Deputy CM directed the formation of a special committee led by Special Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, and including municipal, housing and law secretaries, to address these issues within a week.
The sub-committee also reviewed requests from industrial representatives to relocate their factories to somewhere outside the Outer Ring Road due to pollution concerns. The sub-committee members advised the industrial department to support this transition, advocating for a zero-pollution policy within the Hyderabad city limits.
Municipal officials provided updates on the ongoing land auctions, and the housing department was instructed to prioritize high-value auctions to maximize revenue. Additionally, unsold plots under the Rajiv Swagruha scheme were reviewed for efficient monetization.
Vikramarka further directed officials to establish five-acre industrial parks in each Assembly constituency to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs), aiming to generate employment and stimulate economic growth in rural areas.
The sub-committee resolved to document the meeting minutes, and requested an Action Taken Report (ATR) from department officials at the next meeting, scheduled for the following week.
Senior officials in attendance included Special Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, Municipal Administration Principal Secretary Dana Kishore, Revenue Principal Secretary Naveen Mittal, IT Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Finance Chief Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Housing Secretary Buddha Prakash, Industry Special Secretary Vishnuvardhan, and district Collectors Narayana Reddy (Rangareddy) and Kranthi (Sangareddy).
