The Telangana government on Friday released Rs 2.20 crores for carrying out repairs, renovation or maintainance of mosques and Eidgahs across the State.
In an order issued on Friday, the State government asked the District Collectors to direct the District Minorities Welfare Officers / Municipal Commissioners / Tahsildars in their respective districts to physically inspect the Eidgahs and Mosques where the Muslim population was large to ensure works were genuinely needed, obtain the particulars, and release funds to the concerned authorities / caretakers of such Eidgahs and mosques as per the requirements.
The State Wakf Board CEO has been directed to release the amount for the mosques located in Adilabad, Hyderabad, Khammam, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Rangareddy and Warangal. (INN)
