Telangana has been selected for the Centre's Swachch Sarvekshan Grameen 2019 Award.
Telangana Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Minister Erraballi Dayakar Rao received the award from Union Fertilisers Minister Sadananda Gowda at a program held in Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao attributed the award to the team work by officials and Sarpanches in the State.
"We have successfully implemented a 30-day plan for a clean and green environment in our villages," he said.
He claimed that the program helped to ensure clean premises at Anganwadi schools, public places, health centers and other places.
"We are also implementing a plan of action to set up a dumping yard in each village in all districts of the State," he added.
He also said, of course, that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao deserved the credit for the award.
