Jagan Congratulates Telangana People

Congratulating the people of Telangana on the formation of the new State, YSR Congress Party President Y S Jaganmohan Reddy said that though the Andhra Pradesh was divided geographically, the Telugu people would stay united, and cooperate mutually.

"I congratulate each and every individual of Telangana on the occasion of the formation of the new state, and wish Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao the best in steering the State towards development. I assure him that our Party will extend all support for the government's constructive agenda," he said after the national flag was unfurled at the Party office on Monday.

"We tried to keep the State united, but eventually it was split. But the division of the Telugu people is not possible, as they speak the same language, and I hope they will take forward the rich heritage of the language and help each other mutually," he said.

"YSR is still alive in the hearts of the people in the Telangana region, as his welfare schemes had touched all sections of the society, and his vision had helped the dryland farmers of Telangana - his first signature after assuming office was to provide free power to farmers. About 15 lakh pump sets in the Telangana region could get free power due to his decision," Jagan added.

"The irrigation projects he has drafted for Telangana will be remembered by the farmers for a long time as no Chief Minister could even dream of such mega ventures. This apart, the fee reimbursement and other schemes have also benefitted the people of the region. With the new State coming into being, I call upon all our party men to strive hard towards our achieving the status of a national party in the future," he said.

"We will strive to take forward the ideals of YSR in the Telangana region, as people in both states benefitted from his welfare and development measures. We will work to bringing in the YSR golden era back in Telangana as well," he said.(INN)
