Overwhelming Response For Telangana Run

As part of the Telangana Formation Day celebrations, Telangana Runs were organised across the State today.

In collaboration with the police department, the run was organised in all district headquarters and towns, and thousands of people from all walks of life participated enthusiastically in it.

As part of the celebrations, 2K and 5K runs were organised from the Dr B R Ambedkar Statue to Necklace Road in Hyderabad, and over 4,000 people participated.

Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mahmood Ali, Srinivas Goud and Srinivas Yadav, MLA Danam Nagender, GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari and DGP Anjani Kumar jointly flagged off the run.

A festive atmosphere prevailed at the Necklace Road as ministers, legislators, officials, sportspersons, film personalities and youth joined the celebrations and took part in the run. Singers Mangli and Ram enthralled the participants with their performances.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahmood Ali said that Telangana was progressing rapidly by implementing plenty of development programs and welfare schemes under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and that the State was number one in all sectors.

Srinivas Goud said that Telangana was leading the IT sector in India, and that no State in India could compete with Telangana.

Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari said that there was an overwhelming response among the people, especially the youngsters, to the Telangana Formation Day celebrations, and thanked all the participants for making the programs grand successes.

DGP Anjani Kumar said that Telangana was the safest and healthiest State in India. He said that with rapid development in various sectors, the State had earned fame not just in the country but across the world.

GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar and other senior police officials were also present.
