MIM legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi on Tuesday got emotional in the Telangana Assembly lobby over the suicides by farmers, recalling the murder attempt made on him, and how the suicide or death of a person caused his family an irreparable loss.
"The ending of lives by farmers or any others is very painful," he said.
He recalled how, as he was battling death when he was hospitalized, his family was distraught.
"My children and wife were crying inconsolably when I was on bed, and I know the value of a life. Such conditions should not prevail in the State, which should resolve the suicides issue immediately," he said.
He was furious against the ruling party members for laughing at him when he said that he would speak on the suicides for 15 minutes. Owaisi sought to know how they could ridicule such a serious issue instead of coming up with a solution.
Owaisi also took exception to Telangana IT Minister and the son of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, K Taraka Rama Rao, for directing him to do something which was the job of the Speaker.
He was also surprised over Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas' statement that there was normal rainfall in some districts and that the crops there were safe.
