Telangana Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao today alleged that the BJP was bringing the Bofors case to the fore again for political mileage in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Rao opined that the BJP would lose in the UP elections despite hatching "nefarious plans and schemes".
Speaking next, former Minister Danam Nagender dubbed the BJP as a Party of the glitterati, and claimed that it was Priyanka Gandhi's family that had sacrificed for the nation's freedom and not the Right Wing. The BJP's criticism of the Gandhi family reflected mean politics, he said.
Reacting sharply to the allegations made by Nizamabad MP K Kavitha against AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, Nagender alleged that Kavitha's father, brother, and brother-in-law enjoyed power because of the Congress, which conceded Telangana. He urged Kavitha to gag the "insults".
