T-Congress Slams Move To Demolish Osmania Hospital
The party demanded that the government construct a new building in the vacant place on the hospital premises, and not destroy the monumental structure.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) leaders on Saturday slammed the state government for contemplating demolishing the historical Osmania General Hospital.
TPCC leaders Mallu Batti Vikramarka, V Hanumantha Rao, D Sudheer Reddy and others visited the hospital premises on Saturday. Speaking to the media later, the leaders demanded that the government construct a new building in the vacant place on the hospital premises, and not destroy the monumental building.
Recalling that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had only recently demanded a change in the Metro Rail alignment in front of the Assembly building on the grounds that the Assembly was a historical building, they expressed doubts that the Chief Minister might be having a hidden agenda in wanting to demolishing the Osmania General Hospital building now.
They warned that they would obstruct the destruction of the building in case the government went ahead with its plan.
