8 Telangana Congress MPs have decided to boycott the budget session of Parliament till the Centre makes an announcement on a separate Telangana state.
Talking to media persons after emerging from a meeting with Congress MPs at Rajya Sabha member K Kesava Rao's residence, Nizamabad MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud said that the MPs have unanimously decided to boycott the ongoing Parliament session until the Centre makes an announcement on Telangana.
Stating that so far, the Telangana leaders have been waiting patiently for the Centre's decision on the Telangana issue, Yaskhi said that the leaders would chalk out their future course of action after a discussion with Union Health Minister and In-Charge of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad and Congress emissary Vayalar Ravi.
He appealed to all leaders, cutting across party lines, to make united efforts under a common platform to achieve statehood for Telangana.
Meanwhile, the Congress High Command directed Congress emissary Vayalar Ravi and Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana to hold consultations with the Telangana Congress MPs to pacify them. The High Command has also appealed to Telangana Congress leaders not to disrupt the proceedings of Parliament. (INN)
