The Congress today targeted the TRS over the land that the latter party was given in a prime area of the city for a party office.
The Congress alleged that this was one more instance of the assets of the ruling party going up while the poor people, who had fought for the creation of Telangana state, continued to suffer in the pink party's rule.
AICC spokesperson Dasoju Sravan took strong exception to the issuance of a GO allocating one acre of land to the TRS.
He wondered how the state government could issue a GO allocating Rs. 100 crore worth of land to the ruling party.
He also asked the state government why the land was being allotted to the TRS in the same area where the headquarters of the party were located.
Targeting the Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, he alleged that the CS was handing over public properties to the ruling party in order to keep his post, and demanded that the state government construct some of its free double bedroom houses for the poor on the land allotted to the ruling party.
He vowed that the Congress would fight on the issue till the decision was withdrawn by the state government, and that the Congress would take all other opposition parties along with it on the issue.
