AICC spokesperson Dasoju Sravan today took a potshot at the
Cabinet meeting helmed by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao that was held yesterday.
Speaking to the media at the Gandhi Bhavan about the meeting, he wondered why such meetings had never been held in the last seven years, and claimed that the Cabinet had not discussed matters relating to the problem of unemployment in the state adequately.
The leader also claimed that though the KCR government was promising to fill 50,000 posts ahead of the upcoming Huzurabad by-election, it had made the same promise before the GHMC elections, the Dubbaka by-election as well as the Nagarjuna Sagar by-election, and added that the government would have filled 2.5 lakh posts by now if it had really fulfilled these earlier promises.
Sravan then flayed the state government for not having released "a single job notification" in the last seven years. Stating that the ruling party had promised to introduce a monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 3,016, simply to "counter" the Rs 3,000 allowance being promised by the Congress, he said that the TRS regime had not taken any steps to keep its word.
The AICC bigwig also alleged that the government had continuously been ignoring the Congress' demand that it issue a job calendar, and urged the government to issue a white paper on the number of vacant posts in Telangana's government departments.
