Almost all sections of the Telangana Congress complained that their own party and its senior leaders did injustice to them while in power.
Presenting their reports on the outcome of the group discussions held with party workers during the workshop at Sri Indu Engineering College in Ibrahimpatnam on Monday, the Telangana Congress leaders admitted that local workers were neglected by the senior leadership.
Further, the traditional voters of the Congress drifted away due to different factors, they stated.
CLP leader in the Telangana Legislative Council D Srinivas presented his report on the steps to be taken to strengthen the organisation.
He also highlighted the reasons the Congress lost the support of communities including employees and the civil society which were traditionally with the Party.
Speaking on the strategy to win the confidence of the SC/ST Communities, Deputy CLP leader Dr J Geetha Reddy said that the Congress had failed to capatalise the achievement of introducing the SC/ST Sub-Plan.
However, she said that the SC/ST Party workers had also often felt neglected and let down by the top leadership.
Other senior leaders including V Hanumantha Rao, Mohammed Ali Shabbir, D Sridhar Babu, G Chinna Reddy and others also presented the summary of the group discussions which were held on the first day of the workshop on Sunday.
AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh, AICC Secretary R C Khuntia, TPCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Assembly K Jana Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP M A Khan and other senior leaders were also present. (INN)
