The meeting is expected to focus alternate transport arrangements for the convenience of the public, as the RTC impasse shows no sign of getting resolved.

A brief statement from the Chief Minister's office today said that the State cabinet would meet at Pragati Bhavan on November 2, at 3 pm.
Though the agenda for the meeting was not made public, the proposed meeting is expected to focus on plans to ensure alternate transport arrangements for the convenience of the public, as the TSRTC employees' strike entered its 26th day today and there is no sign of abatement of the stir.
The employees' JAC continues to insist on the merger of the corporation with the State government, while the government has made it clear many times that it is not prepared to even discuss the issue, resulting in a prolonged stalemate.
It is learnt that the government is planning to hire private bus services and open nearly 4,000 routes to private operators to overcome the strike. The Cabinet meet is likely to take a decision in the matter on November 2, as also on dealing with the ongoing case in the High Court on the strike.
