Union Minister of Textiles Kavuri Sambasiva Rao on Friday claimed that the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill 2013 would not be tabled or approved during the ongoing session of the Parliament.
Speaking to media persons, Kavuri said that efforts are on to stop the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. "We have our strategies, plots and weapons to stop the bifurcation," he said.
However, he ruled out possibilities of the Bill being tabled during the ongoing extended session of the Parliament.
When asked about the possibilities of the Union cabinet clearing the Telangana Bill, he announced that he would stage a walkout from the cabinet meeting if Hyderabad is not declared a Union Territory. He said that the residual State of Andhra Pradesh would be of no use if Hyderabad is not made a Union Territory. He also rejected the assurance of the Group of Ministers (GoM) of providing Hyderabad with facilities without granting it a UT status. (INN)
