Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Friday hinted that the Center would hasten the process of formation of a separate Telangana state.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Shinde said that the process of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh has already been set in motion.
He also mentioned that the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana would submit its report before the commencement of the winter session of Parliament. He said that a time-frame has been set to complete the processes and the Telangana Bill would be introduced in the Parliament during the winter session.
The GoM on Telangana, which had met in the national capital on October 19th, has sought department-wise detailed reports on bifurcation.
In this connection, a meeting has been convened by Union Home Secretary Anil Biswas on Friday with secretaries of other departments.
The Central and state government officials have been asked to submit their reports at the earliest, to enable that the GoM to take further action during its next meeting on November 7. (INN)
