As part of the plans to intensify the agitation for Telangana state formation, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) has decided to observe a 24-hour 'rail roko' on March 1st.
Talking to media persons at the JAC Office at New MLA Quarters in Adarshnagar, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Convenor Prof. Kodandaram on Friday said the JAC has decided to organize rail roko on March 1st across Telangana districts.
Kodandaram said that all trains to and from New Delhi will be stopped on March 1st as part of the agitation.
He said the rail roko will be organized with the slogan 'Palle Palle Pattala Paiki'. He called upon all Telangana activists, employees and JAC students to participate widely in the program and make it a grand success.
All village people in districts would stage sit-ins on the tracks and disrupt the train services in order to bring pressure on the Centre to introduce the Telangana Bill in the Parliament, Prof. Kodandaram pointed out.
He thanked employees for continuing their non-cooperation agitation, and also called upon Telangana leaders to launch rallies and dharnas in districts and mandals in support of T-NGOs' non-cooperation agitation.
