PIL On Telangana Bandhs Accepted
The AP High Court gave the state government, KCR and Kodandaram 14 days to respond to a PIL on the series of agitations by Telangana activists in the region.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday gave the state government, KCR and Kodandaram 14 days to respond to a Public Interest Litigation on the series of agitations and bandhs by Telangana activists in the region.
Accepting the petition, which was filed by a city-based advocate Krishnaiah, the High Court issued notices directing the government, KCR and Prof. Kodandaram to respond to the PIL.
Krishanaiah had, in his a PIL, expressed serious objection on the agitations and bandhs to press the Centre over the deletion of Clause 14 F from the Presidential Orders of 1975.
Krishnaiah argued in his petition that the bandhs were disrupting the normal life of people and causing inconvenience to businesses and trade.
Accepting the petition, the High Court issued notices to the state government represented by the Principal Secretary, the Home Secretary, and the Director General Of Police, and TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao and Telangana Political JAC convenor M Kodandaram.
They have been given 14 days to file their counter petitions. The Court adjourned the case for further hearing, for 2 weeks. (INN)
