First T-Assembly Session On, 117 MLAs Take Oath
Other than Akbaruddin Owaisi who is in London undergoing treatment, and Mumtaz Khan who is in the US, all the MLAs took oath on the first day.

The first session of the Legislative Assembly of the new Telangana State began in Hyderabad on Monday, with 117 members taking oath on the first day.
The proceedings began with senior legislator K Jana Reddy being sworn-in as the Protem Speaker by Governor E S L Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan at 9:30am. The Assembly session started at 11am with the Protem Speaker administering oath to the new members.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who entered the Assembly after a gap of 10 years, was the first to take oath, followed by Deputy Chief Minister Dr T Rajaiah, Etela Rajender and the others in the Council of Ministers.
After the Cabinet ministers, 9 women legislators took oath as members of the Telangana Assembly.
Except for Akbaruddin Owaisi and Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, all the other members took oath on the first day. According to sources, Akbaruddin Owaisi is in London for treatment, while Mumtaz Khan is in the US. They will be taking the oath after they return to the city.
Five MLAs of the MIM - Syed Ahmed Pasha, Ahmed Balala, Maozam Khan, Jaffer Hussain Meraj and Kausar Mohiuddin - took oath in Urdu. Goshamahal MLA D Raja Singh (BJP) took the oath in Hindi. Four members - Ajmera Rekha Naik (TRS), Geetha Reddy (Congress), Padamavathi Reddy N (Congress) and Aamir Shakil (TRS) - took the oath in English. The remaining members took the oath in Telugu.
TDP's A Revanth Reddy was the last to take oath on Monday.
The Chief Minister was present in the House for the entire session.
After the completion of the oath-taking ceremony, the Protem Speaker adjourned the House till 11am on Tuesday. (INN)
