Telangana Assembly Monsoon Session From Sep 20

After approving the popular Constitutional amendment bill for the GST, the Telangana Legislative Assembly decided, in a Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, to conduct the Monsoon Session from September 20 to September 30.

The BAC meeting chaired by Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary discussed the itinerary of the next session in the presence of Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Assembly Affairs Minister T Harish Rao, Finance Minister E Rajender and Chief Whip K Eshwar. Members from other Parties who attended the meeting were Congress leaders Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Chinna Reddy, BJP leader G Kishan Reddy, TDP leader S Venkata Veeraiah, CPM leader S Veeraiah and MIM leader Mojam Khan.

As soon as the BAC meeting was over, the Chief Minister made it to Raj Bhavan at 2:30 pm and reportedly apprised Governor E S L Narasimhan about the approval of the GST Bill, and also informed the Governor of the BAC's decision. He asked the Governor to summon the House for the Monsoon Session as per constitutional procedures.
