Police registered cases against two persons, including the son of Telangana Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, on charges of kidnapping the husband of a Lok Sabha member.
Kothapalli Geetha, Lok Sabha member from Araku Valley, lodged a complaint with the Punjagutta police alleging that her husband was kidnapped and confined for over six hours, and had his land documents forcibly taken by Sai, the son of the minister, and another person belonging to an R R Constructions Company.
She also stated in her complaint that her husband was let off at Kondapur after the police chased the alleged kidnappers.
Based on her complaint, the police registered cases against the two under Sections 384 and 342 of the IPC, and took up investigation.
Speaking to the media, Yadav stoutly denied the allegations against his son, and said the charges were fabricated in an attempt to defame his family.
He also said that his son had gone to the MP's husband only to demand the repayment of a huge loan amount.
He said that he would reveal all the details with proof shortly.
