Irate farmers, on Thursday, manhandled a Tahsildar for not releasing their crop relief funds.
According to eyewitnesses, the farmers of Mukanda thanda, under Kanti mandal in Medak district, roughed up Tahsildar Yadgiri Goud for not releasing crop relief Rs. 1.03 crores meant for 340 farmers.
The farmers were angry at the official for returning the crop insurance amount to government after the funds were released.
The farmers were allegedly led by the Thanda Mahipati, Nayak.
The irate farmers also lodged a complaint against the Tahsildar at the local police station alleging that the official abused them in the name of caste. They urged the police to book the Tahsildar under the Atrocities Act.
Soon afterwards, the Tahsildar also lodged a counter-complaint against the farmers at the Kanti mandal police station.
