Suspended CI Durga Rao On Run Arrested At Guntakal

Suspended Panjagutta police station Circle Inspector Durga Rao has been arrested by the Hyderabad police in Guntakal.

According to reports, Rao was taken into custody in Guntakal from Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.

For the uninitiated, a few days ago, a road accident occurred at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad in which Raheel Aamir, the son of Shakil Aamir, the former MLA of Bodhan, was involved. Durga Rao is an accused in the case. During the investigation, it was found that Rao had helped Raheel, the main accused in the case, to flee. Additionally, Rao had registered a case against another person instead of Sohail.

Following this, Durga Rao was suspended by Hyderabad CP Kothakota Srinivas Reddy. After his suspension, Rao went into hiding fearing arrest. He had been evading arrest ever since, and had filed a petition in the High Court for anticipatory bail.

Bodhan CI Prem Kumar has also been taken into custody in the case. Prem Kumar had helped Shakeel's son go abroad, and he too has been on the run after Rao's suspension.
