BRS MLC Dande Vithal got relief in the Supreme Court in his MLC election cancellation case.
The Supreme Court stayed the Telangana High Court verdict declaring his election invalid.
The hearing on the petition was postponed to July by the apex court.
Vithal was elected unopposed as a BRS MLC in 2022 from Adilabad local bodies' constituency.
However, Congress leader Pathireddy Rejeswar Reddy said that he had not withdrawn his nomination, and that his signatures had been forged by Vithal. He approached the High Court and urged it to declare the election of Vithal invalid.
He also urged the HC to send the forged documents to the Central Forensic Laboratory to verify the forgery.
The High Court heard the arguments of the both sides and declared its verdict canceling Vithal's election as MLC. However, the Supreme Court has now stayed the same order.
