Condemning the
pelting of stones on Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu's convoy in Rangareddy district on Monday, Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) official spokesperson Gautham stated on Tuesday that in a democracy, any person can travel anywhere and speak on any issue.
Talking to media persons at the PRP office in Jubilee Hills, Gautham asked TRS leaders not to provoke students and resort to such attacks by raising controversies at critical juncture when a report by the Srikrishna Commission on the future of the State is due.
The TRS activists had attacked the convoy of the TDP chief as the party had not made its stand clear on Telangana Statehood issue.
The PRP spokesman blamed the TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao for using students as pawns in the Telangana issue and provoking them to make such attacks.
Gautham blamed the government for failing to provide a proper security cover for the Opposition leader, and said that the Home Minister should be held responsible for such problems of law and order.
