Still No Cong Reps For Telangana Meet
Congress is strongly considering Rajahmudry MP Vundavalli Aruna Kumar and Zaheerabad MP Suresh Kumar Shetkar to speak for Seemandhra and Telangana regions respectively.
With only two days for the Telangana all-party meet, Congress' delay in finalising its representatives to the convention has come under the scanner. Of the 8 parties invited to the convention by Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, 4 have already decided on their emissarries, and delays with regard to the same on part of the Congress is being criticised.
Despite demands by Telangana leaders that only one representative be sent from each party, CM Kiran kumar Reddy has declared that each party must send in two people, one from Telangana and one from Seemandhra, with strong viewpoints, and the eloquence to put them forward in keeping with their party's collective opinion. This mandate by the CM has been endorsed by PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana as well.
The CM and the PCC chief convened a meeting with the sole intention of picking out envoys to the meeting. During the last all-party meet on the same issue, Congress Huzurnagar MLA Uttam Kumar Reddy to represent Telangana and Eluru MP Kavuru Sambasiva Rao as the agent of the Seemandhra region.
This time, Congress is strongly considering Rajahmudry MP Vundavalli Aruna Kumar and Zaheerabad MP Suresh Kumar Shetkar to speak for Seemandhra and Telangana regions respectively. Congress leaders have assured that names will be made public in a day or two.
