The State government's decision to cancel advertisements to the small newspapers has evoked unrest among their editors and reporters.
These publishers, editors and reporters met chief secretary S V Prasad at the Secretariat on Monday.
Office-bearers representing about 150 small newspapers located in Hyderabad and Rangareddy expressed their concern over the issue and urged him to look into the matter.
The manner in which their advertisement revenue has been scrapped and the resultant suffering, which affected their working and livelihood of the dependents was under focus.
The chief secretary is understood to have assured to speak to the officials concerned and discuss the issue.
