The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), on Monday, announced 16% bonus for the workers from the profits of the company.
According to INTUC executive president Vankat Rao, Chief Minister K Rosaiah had agreed to a 16% bonus for the workers from the profit of Rs. 268 crore earned during the year 2009-2010.
Earlier, the employees had demanded a 25% bonus for the workers and issued a strike notice for staging dharna on October 11th.
Following the intervention of the Chief Minister, the employees had withdrawn their strike notice.
The employees also discussed their problems with Rosaiah. The Chief Minister assured to look into their genuine demands and took favourable decision after meeting officials concerned.
Earlier, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao had demanded that the state government release 25% bonus for the workers.
Rao had appealed to the Chief Minister to pay the 25% bonus before the Bathukamma and Vijaya Dasami celebrations in the state.
